I need a variety of rhythm instruments such as egg shakers, hand drums and tambourines as well as equipment such as a parachute, a stretchy band, dance scarves, a stuffed beet and bean bags. All of this will be used to enhance the music experience and help students learn the musical concepts being taught in a fun, interactive way.

Need: Apple TV for the classroom to connect the teacher iPad to the presentation televisions in the classroom wirelessly. I teach middle school and high school Math, STEAM, logical reasoning and cryptology, and engineering explorations. In my classes, it would be advantageous to have the ability to cast to the classroom TV: documents, class notes, homework questions, Desmos interactive geometry tools, graphing software, and our textbook and curriculum resources. I would like to be able to annotate these clearly on the iPad and have them up on-screen for the students. Although some of this can be accomplished on a traditional whiteboard or on a computer tethered to the screen at the front of the room, with a wireless connection, I can walk around the room during instructional time, engaging students, and giving them a way to participate on-screen as well. The addition of an Apple TV to the classroom will promote an interactive learning environment and make meaningful and efficient use of the limited time I have in the classroom with my students.

In my Grammar and Writing classes, I occasionally use videos to introduce and reinforce writing concepts. Our current TV has damaged speakers, limiting our ability to incorporate multimedia in lessons. A new smart TV would revolutionize how I teach, providing access to stimulating video resources. The impact? Students will develop a deeper understanding of language through visual instruction, supporting and enhancing their learning experience. This new technology will bridge the gap between traditional and modern education, truly transforming their learning journey.

This year our rocket club has five students attempting to obtain their Level One certifications through the National Association of Rocketry. Acquiring the certification involves each student Purchasing rockets and motors, then building, flying, and recovering their own rocket. They must also pass both oral and written tests Before they fly their rocket. The cost per student is approximately $300. Additionally, we have a ten student high school team attempting to qualify for the American Rocketry Challenge at the national level. In order to qualify, students must launch scratch-built rockets in a precise manner, manipulating the rocket's flight characteristics to achieve a target altitude in a specified amount of time. The students this year are learning to use a 3D printer and CAD modeling software for design and are attempting to 3D print the majority of their rocket bodies. They must extensively test and refine their design through up to 40 test flights that will require a rocket motor for each test. These test flights are used to evaluate flight capabilities and ensure flight performance and OpenRocket predictions match. Rocket building materials will cost approximately $500. The cost of 40 motors will run around $2500.

This laser cutter/engraver will be used extensively for a variety of purposes, ranging from the production of precision rocketry components to creating new fundraising opportunities. As one of the safest and easiest-to-operate machines of its kind, this tool is perfectly suited to our club’s needs. By using this machine, our members will gain valuable, hands-on experience with modern manufacturing techniques and standard prototyping methods. This experience will help prepare them for future academic and professional opportunities while strengthening the technical capabilities of our club. Ultimately, acquiring this technology will allow us to keep our programs running for years to come, while significantly reducing production times and helping us complete projects more efficiently.

As part of a homeschool center, we do our best to work with a shoestring budget and try to keep the kids as active as possible. One main issue that comes with that is the lack of equipment we sometimes run into. It is my goal with the high school aged kids that they would recognize the importance of keeping a healthy and strong body, as well as realize that their health and strength is a gift from the Lord, and that they should take care of it as an act of gratefulness. One element we would like to incorporate is more calisthenic and weight based workouts to give the kids a sense of easy routines that they can do at home with very little money. This project is intended to fund a very simple set of weight training equipment, as well as calisthenic equipment and tools. My hope is that it helps the children to be more confident in themselves, as well as have appreciation for what the Lord provides for them on a daily basis.
