About This Project
Valley Christian School would like a 2026 World Book encyclopedia set for the elementary library. Our newest set of World Book Encyclopedias is 2012. We strive to update this resource every five years, however, life has been full! We are a very patriotic school and the 2026 WB spinescape has an American flag "waving" across the books. This seems like the year to invest in this hard copy set. (Also, the encyclopedia set we have is then passed on to a teacher who can use a set in his/her own classroom.)
Impact Statement
Having a hard copy set of encyclopedia utilizes skills galore: alphabetizing, thinking, reading, citations, handwriting, rewording, outlining, etc. Our students do state reports, animal reports, country reports, and biography reports, and all need to know how to use print resources that cultivate learning.

As the librarian for VCS, I have interaction with students in all grades. We have two libraries, one for the elementary students and staff, and one for the older students. Math is refreshment for me and each year my admin finds math needs that I can fulfill - looks like 6th grade this year. Never a dull moment!
